The UAJ is pleased to welcome esteemed speaker and attorney Nick Rowley, Esq.“Trial by Human: Connecting with the Jury During All Parts of Your Trial” (3 CLE)
Nick Rowley is no stranger to the UAJ. He was a highly anticipated and very well received speaker at our Auto PI Seminar in 2011. We're glad to have him back in Utah, this time for ski season! Mr. Rowley has been widely noted for his vast accomplishments in the last decade. Of his numerous noteworthy achievements, Nick recently received a record-setting verdict of over $74.5 million for a medical malpractice case in California. Additionally, Nick has served as an instructor at Gerry Spence’s much in-demand Trial Lawyers College. Prof. Randy Dryer
“The Brave New World of Social Media: How it is Profoundly Impacting Our Lives, Our Courts and Our Practice of Law” (2 CLE)
Randy Dryer was named a Presidential Honors Professor at the University of Utah in 2011, with a joint appointment at the S.J. Quinney College of Law and the University Honors College. He is nationally recognized as an expert in media law and First Amendment issues. Before joining University of Utah's faculty, he was an attorney for Parsons, Behle & Latimer in Salt Lake City.

Prof. Emily Chiang
"Ethics and Professionalism Through the Lens of the Right to Counsel: Reflections of the 50th Anniversary of Gideon" (1 CLE)
Emily Chiang has a diverse legal background. She served as primary editor for the Harvard Law Review while earning her J.D., and later worked as a civil rights attorney for the Brennan Center for Justice at N.Y.U. School of Law and for the American Civil Liberities Union National Legal Department. She has taught at University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law since 2009, in which she has specialized in the areas of ethics and civil rights.
